Another step along the path of three dimensional representation of Celtic imagery. In this piece, a kilncast glass ring is embedded in the knot, which is carved from a single piece of elm.
One theory has it that the Triquetra knot represents the Christian Holy Trinity and the Ring binds these together. I know nothing of this, but the result is a taut sense of motion and complexity, there’s a lot going on in this quite large piece.
