Feline

Feline was a personal challenge to capture the very essence and presence of a cat. It followed on from a previous commission which resulted in Millie, a portrait of an individual cat, where the intent was to make a likeness of that particular feline friend. For Feline, I opted to capture more essential aspects of these enigmatic creatures, the result being a stronger face and more purposeful look in it’s eyes, something that surely lets you know it is in the room!

Further experimentation with hidden lighting, allows the viewer to radically alter the appearence of the piece and to tailor the look to any given situation. Any colour or intensity of light can be selected, or even cycling through the spectrum of colours. This allows a bold statement, or very subtle enhancement of the crystal clear glass form.

Cast glass, Scottish Elm, hidden lighting. Around 14″ / 36cm high.
